Kisumé

“Beyond trend – Something everlasting”

Kisumé is the Lucas Group’s (Chin Chin, Baby, Kong, Hawker Hall) polished new three-storey Japanese restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD.

Mystery, sensuality and form

Lucas enlisted Melbourne designer Fabio Ongarato for the interior and Ramler to design and manufacture bespoke furnishings. The result is a moody, understated bunker inspired by classic Japanese design, where the interior is minimalist in nature, hues are limited to blond timber counters, burnished gold edging on the tables and matte bronze light shades complemented by dusty pink curtains. Though Kisumé is open for lunch, this is a night-time space, through and through.

“It’s sexy, yet thought provoking,” said Fabio Ongarato. “We’ve tried to build something beyond trend – something everlasting.”
